Hossa signs ridiculous 12 year deal
Hossa is a great player but 12 years? This is ludricrous even without a tough economy. What happens when they want to trade him when his play starts dropping off? I thought these crazy long contracts were history but it appears some GMs never learn. Look how the Rangers tied their hands with long term deals with Scott Gomez and Chris Drury.

Here is the thing with the Hossa deal...It is really an 8 year deal meaning he makes the majority of his money during those first 8 years and then is easily bought out in the final 4 years.
ReplyDeleteYes it is difficult to gasp the contract but when you look at the real numbers of the contract it is not as ludricrous as you might think
